Group Classes

Group Classes

Discover a wide range of group classes tailored to meet your dog’s training needs, including basic, advanced, and puppy courses, among others. Our Group Class provide an excellent opportunity for your furry friend to socialize with new people and fellow canines.

Participating in our group class offers neumerous advantages for both you and your dog. Not only will you accquire a diverse set of dog training skills, but your pup will also benefit from essential socialization experiences.

We hold group classes outdoors and indoors, in a controlled setting around other people and dogs, so you can get the maximum results while teaching your dog to be under control in the group environment.

Classes are a mix of all breeds and sizes, and our classes provide necessary socialization skills and practice around low & high levels of distractions.  We like to make our group classes exciting for both dogs and handlers.

We have created fun training games and an environment that feels less like a class and more like a social outing. We are building a community and our dog training groups tend to feel like a family and less like a dog training school. Friends are made, bonds are formed, and both dogs and dog owners look forward to their weekly group training sessions.

  • Item description
  • Nose work is a sport that mimics the task of working detection dogs to locate a scent and communicate to the handler that the scent has been found. Nose Work creates an amazing working relationship between dogs and their handlers. It is a fun game that any dog can play. You will train your dog to find particular odors in different elements – interiors, exteriors, vehicles and containers.

Because sniffing is one of your dog’s greatest joys in life, they love learning and practicing this sport. This class is a great confidence builder for shy or fearful dogs; offers an outlet for older and retired dogs; and provides mental stimulation for ALL dogs.

  • You and your dog will become a great team as you learn new tricks each week. The curriculum for this class is based off of the AKC Novice Trick Dog Title. We will spend the first five weeks of class learning and practicing tricks for an evaluation on week six, with the goal of each student earning the AKC Novice Trick Title.

WOW!!! Your family and friends with all that your dog can do but more importantly, Trick Training creates an amazing bond between you and your dog. As the weeks progress, most handlers report that their dog begins to pay more attention both during training sessions and in day-to-day life. Your dog will want to please you and want to understand you. Tricks are just so much FUN! Tricks will include: Speak, Crawl, Fetch, Find it, High Five, Jump, Kennel up, Paws Up, Push Ups, Spin in a Circle, Touch. Tunnel.

  • Rally is an evolution of obedience competitions. Rally involves all of the behaviors from obedience—heel, sit, stand, stay, come and more. Handlers and their dogs navigate a course where they have to execute various actions. Signs on the course, usually between 10-20, tell the handlers what action to take.

In Rally Obedience, handlers are allowed to talk to their dogs and encourage them, whereas in standard obedience trials handlers are permitted only to give commands. Dogs can also receive food rewards after completing specific behaviors in rally. Dogs love the engagement with their handlers when following the course, and handlers love the increased obedience skills their dogs acquire!

  • The American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizens (CGC) program was developed to promote responsible dog ownership in a manner that would be easy for both dog and owner." Sounds good, right? It is. In fact, the program has been so successful since it's creation in 1989 that it has been noted as being the fastest growing and most popular in AKC history. It also has the stamp of approval of being included in many well-established training programs including therapy pet training programs.

The CGC program is designed to turn your dog into the kind of pet who is delightful to be around. Canine Good Citizens don't jump on visitors, don't yank you along on your walk, don't demand attention and don't make a nuisance of themselves. "A Canine Good Citizen is a dog that is well behaved around people and other dogs, at home and in public."
