About Melissa – Founder & Lead Trainer

With over 25 years of professional dog training experience, Melissa is a passionate, dedicated expert whose love for dogs goes far beyond a career—it's her life's true calling. She is deeply committed to helping pet owners overcome the everyday challenges of untrained dogs, building stronger bonds, clearer communication, and harmonious households through swift, effective, and positive training solutions.

Melissa works enthusiastically with dogs of every age, breed, temperament, and background—no challenge is too big or too small. Her approach draws from a profound understanding of canine behavior, ensuring every training plan is personalized to meet the unique needs and goals of both dog and owner.

A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Melissa served honorably for a decade, where she developed unwavering discipline, precision, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence. These foundational qualities continue to define her work ethic and training philosophy today.

Following her military service, Melissa spent eight years in veterinary medicine as a skilled veterinary technician. In this role, she assisted veterinarians with treatments, diagnostic tests, and compassionate care, gaining extensive hands-on knowledge of animal health, welfare, and behavior—expertise she seamlessly integrates into her training programs.

For more than 25 years, Melissa has actively competed and participated in dog sports including flyball, dock diving, agility, tracking, and barn hunt, showcasing her competitive drive and joy in engaging with dogs through fun, active challenges. For 8 years, she has also proudly served as a dedicated member of her local search and rescue unit & K9 team, giving back to the community in meaningful ways.

Melissa remains a lifelong learner, regularly attending seminars, workshops, and conferences nationwide to stay at the forefront of positive reinforcement techniques and canine science. Her multifaceted background—military discipline, veterinary insight, competitive experience, and community involvement—makes her a trusted, respected leader in the dog training world.
