Drawing on the discipline, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence developed during their military careers, we help dogs of all ages, breeds, and backgrounds become confident, well-mannered companions. Our approach combines clear structure with practical, real-world training so both dogs and their owners can succeed at home, on walks, and in everyday life.

Melissa Paul

Professional Dog Trainer | U.S. Air Force Veteran | Veterinary Technician

With more than 26 years of professional dog training experience, Melissa Paul is a passionate, dedicated expert whose love for dogs is her life’s true calling. She specializes in helping owners overcome everyday challenges with untrained dogs, building stronger bonds, clearer communication, and harmonious households through swift, effective, positive training solutions.

Melissa works enthusiastically with dogs of every age, breed, temperament, and background. Her approach is grounded in a deep understanding of canine behavior, and every training plan is personalized to the unique needs and goals of both dog and owner.

A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, Melissa served honorably for a decade. The discipline, precision, teamwork, and commitment to excellence she developed during her military service continue to shape her work ethic and training philosophy today.

After her military service, Melissa earned an Associate of Applied Science degree and spent eight years as a skilled veterinary technician. In that role she assisted veterinarians with treatments, diagnostic testing, and compassionate patient care, gaining extensive hands-on knowledge of animal health, welfare, and behavior—expertise she seamlessly integrates into her training programs.

For 25 years Melissa has trained and competed in a wide range of dog sports with her own dogs, including flyball, agility, barn hunt, rally, obedience, and dock diving. Over the years she has owned and worked with Australian Shepherds, German Shepherds, Labrador Retrievers, Chihuahuas, Whippets, Border Collies, Belgian Malinois, and mixed-breed dogs—experience that gives her exceptional insight into the unique strengths, challenges, and temperaments of many different breeds.

Giving back to the community is a core part of Melissa’s life. For eight years she has served as a dedicated member of Mohave County Search and Rescue, where she holds the dual roles of Secretary and K9 Handler. In these capacities she has trained and deployed in multiple disciplines, including tracking, swiftwater rescue, K9 operations, and human remains detection. Her service reflects a deep commitment to using her skills and her canine partners to help locate missing persons, support first responders, and strengthen the safety of the communities she calls home.

Melissa is a certified Pet Tech First Aid and CPR Instructor and remains a lifelong learner, regularly attending seminars, workshops, and conferences to stay current with positive reinforcement methods and the latest canine science.

Using reward-based methods—treats, praise, play, and motivation—she focuses on building genuine relationships rather than relying on punishment or harsh corrections.
