We are happy to be offering PetTech CPR & First Aid classes to help you handle such situations. Pet Tech is the first international training center dedicated to CPR, First Aid & Care for dogs and cats. This certification is essential for for pet professionals, including dog trainers, groomers, and especially pet sitters and borders.

This workshop will equip you with the skills to provide CPR and first aid for pets in need. Wheather you are a pet owner or a pet profressional, this workshop will give you the knowledge and abilities to assess and provide appropriate care in emergencies. With over 50 skills taughtm you will be well-prepared to handle any pet emergency. Give your pets the best chance of survival by getting trained in Pet CPR and First Aid.

According to the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) 1-out-of-4 more pets would survive if just one pet first aid technique was applied before getting emergency veterinary care.

  • Pet First Aid & CPR


    The Pet Tech® Pet First Aid and CPR class provides pet owners, caregivers, and professionals with essential life-saving skills tailored specifically for dogs and cats. In this hands-on course (typically 5+ hours for the core CPR & First Aid program, or extended to 8 hours in the comprehensive PetSaver™ version), participants learn the critical importance of immediate action in emergencies, including recognizing the 10 situations that require urgent veterinary care. The curriculum emphasizes practical techniques such as proper pet restraint and muzzling to ensure safety for both handler and animal, along with building and customizing a pet first aid kit stocked for common scenarios.

    A major focus is on Pet CPR, where students master three distinct styles adapted to different pet sizes and breeds, including effective chest compressions, rescue breathing (mouth-to-snout), and managing choking emergencies. Additional key topics cover bleeding control and shock management, heat and cold-related injuries (like heatstroke or hypothermia), poisoning identification and response, insect bites/stings, and snakebite protocols. Through demonstrations and practice, attendees gain confidence in assessing vital signs, performing the Snout-To-Tail™ wellness and injury assessments, and stabilizing pets until professional veterinary help arrives.

    The class promotes proactive pet care with guidance on health and wellness basics, helping participants prevent accidents and respond calmly under pressure. Upon successful completion, students receive a certification card and a detailed handbook (such as the 40-page PetSaver™ manual in extended courses), empowering them to make a real difference in their pets' lives during unexpected medical crises. Whether you're a devoted pet parent or work in pet care, this engaging, supportive training equips you with the knowledge and skills to act decisively when it matters most.
