Puppy Training Program – Start Your Pup Off Right!
Welcome to our positive, reward-based puppy training program designed to help you raise a confident, well-mannered, and happy dog. We offer two flexible training paths so you can choose what works best for you and your puppy:
Private Lessons
Perfect for young puppies or families who want personalized, one-on-one attention.
Ideal for puppies starting as young as 12 weeks old
Completely tailored to your puppy’s unique personality, breed, and your family’s lifestyle
Focus on the most critical early skills: house training, crate training, nipping/mouthing, basic commands (sit, down, come, leave it), leash manners, and preventing common problems
Flexible scheduling
Safe, distraction-free environment so your puppy can learn at their own pace
You’ll learn exactly how to communicate with and handle your puppy effectively
Group Puppy Classes
The perfect next step once your puppy is fully vaccinated.
Fun, structured classes with other friendly puppies of similar age
Proofing obedience around real-life distractions
Controlled, positive socialization – the #1 way to prevent fear and aggression later in life
Advanced skills, impulse control games, polite greetings, loose-leash walking, and more
Ongoing trainer support and lifetime access to graduate classes (at most locations)
Many puppies start with a package of private lessons and then “graduate” into group classes for the best of both worlds!
Common Puppy Challenges We Help Solve
Our training effectively prevents or resolves:
House training accidents
Destructive chewing
Play biting & nipping
Jumping up on people
Excessive barking
Pulling on leash
Fearfulness or shyness
Poor socialization
With clear guidance and positive methods, you’ll enjoy a calm, well-behaved companion instead of a frustrated household.
Puppy Vaccine & Health Requirements (Your Puppy’s Safety Comes First)
Puppies are highly susceptible to serious diseases such as parvovirus (very common in our area), distemper, and bordetella. To keep every puppy in our program safe, the following are required before any group class or socialization:
Minimum of 3 rounds of Distemper/Parvo combo vaccine (typically given at 8, 12, and 16 weeks)
Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine
Negative fecal exam
Rabies vaccine (once age-appropriate, usually 16 weeks+)
Important: Vaccines must be administered by a licensed veterinarian. We cannot accept vaccines given at home, from tractor-supply/farm stores, or by breeders.
Until your puppy is fully vaccinated, we recommend avoiding high-risk areas (dog parks, pet stores, grooming salons with group play, boarding facilities) be avoided. Private lessons are the safest way to begin training during this vulnerable period.
Have questions about whether your puppy is ready? Just give us your vet records – we’re happy to review them and let you know the soonest safe start date.
