Puppy Training
Our puppy training program begins with private lessons tailored specifically to your young dog’s needs. These one-on-one sessions are ideal for addressing early behavioral concerns and laying a strong foundation in basic commands, socialization, and house training. During these personalized lessons, our experienced trainers work closely with you to teach proper handling techniques, introduce crate training, and manage common puppy issues. Private lessons provide a safe, controlled environment where your puppy can learn at their own pace while building trust and confidence with you.
Once your puppy has mastered fundamental skills through private training, you’ll have the opportunity to join our group classes. These sessions are designed to reinforce obedience, improve focus amid distractions, and promote healthy socialization with other dogs and people. Group classes help your puppy develop confidence and good manners in a fun, supportive setting, preparing them for real-world interactions. As your puppy progresses, we introduce more challenging exercises and help you build a strong, lifelong communication system with your dog, ensuring they grow into a well-behaved companion.
Training can effectively address many common puppy issues, helping you raise a balanced and happy dog. Some of these issues include chewing inappropriate items, housetraining problems, excessive barking, jumping on people, fearfulness, and difficulty socializing. Proper training guides your puppy to understand boundaries and appropriate behavior, reducing frustration and preventing bad habits from forming. With consistent guidance and positive reinforcement, your puppy can learn useful skills, curb undesirable behaviors, and develop into a well-adjusted family member. Our comprehensive approach ensures you have the tools and support needed to enjoy a happy, healthy relationship with your puppy.
Puppy Vaccines Requirements
Keeping your puppy safe around other dogs and in public areas until they are fully vaccinated is crucial for their health and well-being. Puppies are especially vulnerable to preventable diseases like distemper, parvo, and bordetella, which can spread quickly in environments where dogs gather. In our area, parvo is particularly prevalent and can be very dangerous, even life-threatening, for unvaccinated puppies. To reduce the risk of exposure, we require puppies to have three sets of the distemper/parvo combo vaccines, the bordetella vaccine, and a negative fecal exam before attending classes.
Once your puppy reaches the appropriate age, it’s also essential to get their rabies vaccine to ensure full protection. Until your puppy is fully vaccinated, it’s best to avoid places with high dog traffic, such as parks, grooming salons, or boarding facilities. Keeping them in a clean, safe environment helps prevent the transmission of harmful diseases and sets the foundation for healthy, happy socialization once they are protected. Your diligence in following these vaccination guidelines is a vital step in keeping your puppy safe and healthy during these crucial early months. If you nave any questions about your puppies vaccines please contact your veterinarian.
***Your puppy must be vaccinated by a licensed veterinarian. We are unable to accept vaccines administered at home or purchased from stores.
